Sonic Sea, narrated by Oscar-nominated actress Rachel McAdams, exposes the devastating impact of ocean noise pollution on whales and other marine life. The film, which premiered on Discovery Channel, was produced by Imaginary Forces and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), in association with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).
Sometimes your greatest contribution to a place is putting the right people in the right place. I brought in film and music industry veteran Linda Yang to help the promotion and distribution of Sonic Sea. After two Emmy Awards and 15 other film festival awards, I'm thrilled with that decision.
The Sonic Sea site included information graphics and animations which educated the public about the specific causes of ocean noise, and encouraged them to get involved by spreading the word.
A robust social media campaign included behind the scenes footage, stills, cast interviews and educational information about ocean noise.
